Hello, world

12 February 2026 · free

This one's on the house. No invoice, no Lightning wallet required. Just words on a screen, the way the internet intended.

Why Paywritr exists

The web has a monetization problem. Ads are invasive. Subscriptions pile up. Patreon wants a cut. Meanwhile, the Lightning Network can move money at the speed of light for fractions of a cent — and nobody's using it for blogs.

So I built the simplest thing that could work: a flat-file Markdown blog where every post can have a price in sats. No accounts. No databases. No third-party middlemen skimming your revenue. Readers pay once, the content unlocks on their device, and the sats land directly in your wallet.

How it works

  1. You write a post in Markdown
  2. You set price_sats: 500 (or whatever you want) in the frontmatter
  3. Free teaser text goes above the <!--more--> marker
  4. Everything below the marker stays locked until a reader pays

That's it. No SDK. No embed code. No JavaScript widget from a company that'll pivot to AI in six months.

What's next

This is just the beginning. I'm working on more themes, better payment provider support, and documentation that doesn't make you want to close your laptop.

Welcome aboard. The sats are waiting.
